Dôme de la Lauze: Echine des Chèvres and Cuculet via the ridge to Jacotte

Echine des Chèvres : Dôme de la Lauze Ouest (3417m) -Signal chair lift (2800m). From Dôme de la Lauze Ouest (accesses by the Puy Salié ice axes or the funicular), descend the glacier towards the northwest, pass on the left (west) of the rock spur at elevation 3064 via steep slopes, go around the not very visible crevasses on the right to reach the bottom of the Signal chair lift (2800m) traversing towards the northwest. You can avoid this beautiful glacial route by remaining on the high altitude pistes of 2 Alpes.

Cuculet via the ridge to Jacotte From the top of the Signal chair lift (3165m), descend under the pylon until around 3050m then diagonally to the left, skirting the Roche Mante ridge to the east and leaving spot elevations 3062 and 3030 on its left. Then take the steep north facing slopes (40°), passing natural monument 3040 on the right which marks the end of Pierre Mante ridge and traverse then to descend 300m diagonally towards the west to reach a broad less steep northern slope, bordered on the west by crags. The weak point is situated just north of spot elevation 2591. Via steep, exposed, northwest facing slopes, you reach the long ridge which leads to Grande Sure (2485m). You can then head to the left to reach the Gours piste via a steep west facing slope of 250m. Travel the ridge keeping to its left side (southwest). It goes diagonally to the west after Sure (2451m) and joins the summer path of the Fée chalet around 1850m (exposed slopes, risk of falling on hard snow). Then traverse towards the north in the direction of the more accessible Clots ridge, above a ravine then rock barriers. Follow this ridge more easily until the village of Cuculet (1299m), passing a final steep pitch between 1600m and 1400m. The trail which connects Cuculet to Mont de Lans  is generally cleared. If this is not the case (exceptional snow cover), take the 2 Alpes access road just above Chambon dam via the summer trail bridge.
