Dôme de la Lauze: Vallon de la Selle

From the Dôme (accesses via La Grave or Deux Alpes ski lifts), descend 50m towards the east until Col de la Lauze (3512m). A very broad completely southern facing slope descends in the direction of Selle refuge. The slope is steep, especially in the middle part (40°) and unrelenting (35° on average for 500m). Be careful of  the risk of falling in hard snow. Leave the Selle refuge on the right (altitude 2673m) to reach the base of the dale which develops towards the west. Descend the entire dale via the bottom and then right bank. It curves gradually towards the southwest, until a water inlet (1690m) where the torrent is traversed. Continue on the left bank via a broad path until the reservoir parking lot, at the end of the cleared road (1639m). When there is good snow cover in the winter it is possible to reach Saint Christophe by skiing through the meadows.
